. . . . .

WWW
« on: December 09, 2009, 02:48:44 AM »

Well, I know last year a couple said they wouldn't mind going even to just fill in a spot on another team.

I was thinking this year we should enter the UWL. We don't need to play all events only one. To place in the competition we don't need to go to all events. only one. I just think it would be a good way to get the team name out there and spread the word.

Now. . . I know the first thing coming out of a lot of peoples' mouths "I'm not really into competition because the sportsmanship isn't as great and it ends up with something happening and then someone yelling and bossing, and some people can lose friends or something like that" No. . .  it doesn't. Sportsmanship only goes out the window if you let it. It all depends on you attitude and what you make it. I simply want to enter just to spread the team name around. I dont care about the competition. Well now I would be lying if I meant that completely. Sure everyone is competitive in someway to extent. I like the competition but not enough to throw fits about it and start yelling at other players or teammates on or off the field. . .

So hopefully we can get a team together for this event this year. . .

I dont really have a problem with competition. What I DO have a problem with is this tournament only takes place in the woods. Thats the only thing about it that is woodsball-esque. It is a 3-flag electro fest. Who can shoot the fastest, the most, blah blah blah.

If this tournament took more skill and tactics more than who can get the best field position first then suppress the other team the best until time is up, then I would be in. Im just not into the whole speedball game in the woods, thing.

Before you say that. I am pretty sure that they did have a pump division. Unless things have changed. It isn't just an electro fest. (Unless they changed things)

Im with Crimson, Im not gonna drop all the money into the tournamet because its just speedball in the woods. No sense in me paying and getting shot out within a few seconds each game. Same reason I shy away from AAPP when its not FFF. Now if they do have a pump/LPD division..I might consider it..because thats what those kind of tornaments are supposed to be Smiley

I would definitely be interested if there was a pump/pistol division. That would be a ton of fun!

I think they have a "skills" division.  They place limits on certain things.  Like how fast you can shoot or something.

Yeah, from their website:

Skills Division - 1 Captain, 1 Scout, 1 Heavy Weapon, 6 Rangers, +1 Sniper

Captain
This is the brains of the outfit. Needs to have good field vision. Must be able to direct the actions of his teammates but have the ability to jump in and gets things done when needed.
Marker Restriction: Can use any electronic marker set to Semi only with a 9 volt hopper.
Abilities: Sets the roster for the team. Calls in the use of Special Weapons. Communicates with the officials.

Heavy Weapons
He is the player that brings the firepower! He will need to be able to carry the ridiculous amounts of paint that is required to keep the other team at bay and bring the heat on any attack.
Marker Restrictions: None! He can use any maker in any mode with any loader. So this guy could be using a full auto Ego with the DYE Rotor.
Abilities: does not count towards a team marker restrictions.

Scout
Speed, Speed and more Speed is what this player needs. He is the first player to make contact with the enemy. He should be able to work independently since he will be on his own for awhile and will need to make some key decisions.
Marker Restriction: Can use any electronic marker set to Semi only with a 9 volt hopper.
Abilities: Is allowed to leave the start base 10 seconds before the rest of the team. Send him for the flag or to cut the other team off from a key position.

Optional Position
Sniper
One shot one kill. He is a one man army relying on accuracy to bring the other team down. Good shooting skills are a must. He will not have volumes of firepower to make up for poor accuracy.
Marker Restriction: Must use a pump gun or pistol.
Abilities: Does not count against the team’s roster size. Effectively an 11th man.

Ranger
He relies on skill and brains to beat his opponent. Firepower is for sissies. Tactics and strategy is what he is thinking about.
Marker Restriction: Must use a non electronic marker. Examples of non electronic markers are; Tippmann model 98, BT4, Spyder Xtra, Autococker and the Automag.

So in Skills you have 3 electros (2 are semi and have a limited fire rate due to hopper restrictions), 6 mechanicals, and a Pump/Pistol player.

I can play sniper. Allthough that's really not my stlye. I kind of consider myself a front/mid player with a pump. I think it would be better if they put a paint restriction. Say one hopper and one pod. That would be sweet. Then the heavy gunner could Cary as much as he wants. Like a pinokio and 8 pods.

See thats what Im saying. Those were the rules from last year too I believe. Read into the event first please.

Also, you don't need to pay a whole lot for paint. There are places that will sell you cases of paint cheap. If we can get ahold of Sarge he could probably get us 5 cases for 175. or some price like that. So price wouldn't be to bad. Also there would be the fee to enter the tournament. I believe is 75. (Just going off the top of my head I think thats what it is)

I would spring for really nice paint. Like Marva or dxs gold. Since you don't have the high volume of paint you want to make sure your hits break.
