I have started thinking about saving up for, or trading my gear/markers/toys this winter. I have thought about turning in both markers and going for a pimped out X7, but worry about only having 1 marker. Then I thought about ditching the SP1 and going after a mini, an ion, or dare I say something like a spyder RSX. Maybe I should keep my SP 1 and turn the A5 in on a delta...All these thoughts and I have not even got in to my gear yet.
Is anyone else thinking about this yet?

Ah....teh bug has bitten you it seems. Such is the nature of paintball..the constant flow of gear.
Id eventually sell the A5 to upgrade to an X7. You can get a cheap X7 somewhere...heck I seen a X7 for $150 on PBn and it had a G36 Folding stock!
Id venture to bet you could get $200-250 for your A5 on the open market.
Keep the SP1...its always good to have a fast shooter..and the SP1 is a nice little gun.
As for me? Ive got what I want, the Emag and Tac-One are all I need. I can see the Delta and G36 being put back up for sale soon!

Yea I'd sell the A-5 and get an X7. All I need is the Mini and X7. The Ion is just to have for every now and then. I need to sell the PMR still. I have pics of the PMR and all that. Just need to sell it lol.

Haha now I'm going to play the devil's advocate.....
Keep what you got man until you know more about yourself as a player and how you play given a situation. Find out if you're more commonly upfront, middle, or back. Find out how much paint you generally shoot and how fast and so on and so forth. Once you do this you will know more about what equipment you need as a player. Until you find out what you need and not what you want you are never going to be happy with your equipment. I spent the last 3 or so years trading in and out guns to the sum of around a dozen. I would use them once and trade them off....EXPENSIVE!!! Play a lot first and find out what you need and then get it less you get stuck in gun whoredom!
In the mean time you could get some small upgrades for the guns you got now. Squishey paddles and vortex for the A5. (can go in x7 later if you get one!) Maybe a double trigger or a new loader for the SP1.

I agree with Varnel. Learn your style of play first, then go from there. If you dont, you get stuck in the never ending circle of picking up markers and trading them off or selling them a week or so later 'cause its not for you. If you're keeping your A5, there is some really sweet stuff for A5's at www.undergroundmodshop.com. I know how FEAR loves its mil-sim, and there is a lot of it there for A5's. If you have questions on anything from there let me know. |

One word. Etek. And not just because I have one for sale. I use an Etek myself, I sold of my A5, my Spyder MR1, and my Spyder Rodeo (which was the best of all the guns until the Etek). The only reason I have one for sale is my wife just can't make it to enough games to make it worth her having an expensive gun.
I had countless problems with my A5, most of you guys probably remember some of the problems, but since I've had the Etek I have never even thought about another gun (except maybe buying a new Tac 8 again, but thats just for CQC).

All joking aside, the Eteks are fantastic! My first Mission Masters game with an Etek I went from averaging 10 kills, 10 deaths to 30 kills, still had 10 deaths though, tends to happen when you play too aggressive.

Correct, I have an Etek 2 and it is one of the best shooting guns I've had. Shots just the same as my '07 Ego did, but 500 or 600 dollars cheaper.
