Feeling lucky punk?

« on: November 07, 2010, 03:17:48 AM »

Design Goals:
-   Have the look and shape of a typical 1911
-      .68 cal
-       semi auto

Design features:
Grip
-   .45 frame
-   Fully encased 12gram with CCI dump bucket
-      accepts .45 grips
Trigger
-   Comp. style trigger
-      push safety
Barrel
-   Brass press fit barrel
-   No porting
Feed system
-   Spring feed
-       located horizontally above the barrel
-   Reloads through hole in front of mag that is accessibly by pulling the slide back.
Sights
-   Accepts standard pistol sights
Valve system
-   Marker cocks upon being aired up
Velocity adjustment
-      screw in back of valve to adjust velocity.  Out = increase, in = decrease in velocity
Slide
-      pulling back the slide allows user to see if there is a round in the chamber
-      also allows user to load the pistol
-      slide lock located on the grip.

For those I've talked to about this project, the first prototype receiver is complete.  Sent the .prt file to a machine shop to get it evaluated/estimated.

10/7/2010
Almost finished the slide.  Having issues with my software again so thats it for today. Slow progress with this damn program.

New spin on an old and little known design.

I know I haven't given out much information, I would like to keep it that way for the time being but does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

What would you like to see that the current paintball pistol market is lacking?

Unfortunately, the "slide" on this pistol has nothing to do with the actual cycling of the marker.  The slide's function is to help direct paint into the breach and serves as a loading gate.  When you pull the slide back and lock it into place, it allows access to the reloading port in the magazine.  Reload, release the slide catch and you're good to go.  Also, while playing, you can pull the slide back and that will line up the window on the slide with the breach so you can check to see if there is a round in the chamber.
