I like having 'different' markers. I have a limited edition Blue Smear Automag RT, my Nerve is getting Lighting splash ano over a 3 color acid wash, and then there's the KP...
I bought this lil pump for myself after being forced by tight finances (effing uncovered family medical) to sell my prized CCM J2L. I still wanted something decent to play pump with when I needed to. I loved the Azodin KP that I got when they launched a couple years back so when I saw one for $70 asking price shipped on MCB I PM'd the guy and got this in the mail a week later. All black with a bit of wear on the body/barrel, but complete. This marker has seen a lot of paint, there was obvious wear throughout.
It was advertised to 'work as it should'. Not sure how that was possible because the valve lip was slightly dinged from hammer wear to the point where the cup seal was sticking open a tad. 10 seconds with a file took care of that. I took it apart and went over to my brothers studio for an easy and quick ano bath. He kinda showed me the ropes with how to do basic anodizing on this. Was really cool and turned out really nice in the green I think. We redid the barrel back in black as well since it was all kinds of scraped up. She looks almost new again.
The pump handle was done in green as well, but one of the holes in the back of it didn't get flushed enough and some acid was hiding in there. It came out when we pulled it from the color bin and bleached the green so that part needs redone and isn't in the pick(obviously). Will update with a completed pic when I get that pump handle back from him as we ran out of time the other day. Everything else worked out and really gave new life to this beat old pump! He offered to polish everything out and really take it to the next level before we ano'd but I said no - this thing isn't worth the time and it looks good in dust. 97% of the wear on it is gone and I'm pretty pleased with my now somewhat unique 'budget pump'. I love that my brother does anodizing!
