I'm mainly aiming this piece to the newer players or those who want to try and make a difference. I just decided to throw it out their and see how this is taken. The general intent is to encourage everyone to contribute to the growth of the sport.

Paintball has it's highs and lows just like everything else. Yet the game has been further embraced in some parts of our popular culture. Yet is it in a positive light? I've seen on TV, movies and in commercials, players just wearing shop goggles at times or other things. Then you can go on youtube and also find videos of people doing dumb things with paintball markers. These people that spew ignorance do things like play "William tell" and wear no face protection. You see videos of idiots driving along a city street and do a drive by shooting with the markers. I know we as a community don't wish to be lumped in to the NRA (National Rifle Association) yet their are those people that just see us as militant or see the game as a fringe thing. Yet we also see players making videos showing off their games and markers to make a difference in a positive way.

Combating ignorance: The first phase to combat the ignorance about the game is education. As I stated before, their are players that make videos that show the game in a positive light. We as a community can act on this with a wide range of how to videos, tips and tricks for getting the most out of your dollar can also go a long way for helping players who are just getting started or don't have the funds to afford the higher end gear. This is something that any of us can do as a way to help our community grow.

Getting out their: We all want to get out their and make this community as strong as we can. We all have some natural talents any way you cut it. Web design, making videos, writing, it doesn't matter. Get yourself involved in writing for a paintball magazine, make videos, design things that will catch someones eye and get them interested. We all have the means to bring in new players.

Making the game friendly: The thing is no matter were you look, their will always be those people who are self centered or are ego driven or just show the bad side of the game. Play with those you know and make those bonds that could last forever. Don't be afraid to meet new people or go to a new field. The way to make the game grow is that we should all help eachother. Not just in a game but if they need help. Doesn't matter if they need an o-ring or help getting their marker working. We should help one another.

In the end it doesn't matter your playing style, because we all play the same thing. We shouldn't hate on one another or hate on what they play with. Just because it is played or used in game, it doesn't mean it's good or bad. We should all just have fun with it. Show your love for the game, help it grow, live and let live.

The idea pretty much is a way for younger player too feel like they can do more to help grow the game. I will say that this was kinda a spear of the moment thing yet the intent and idea was sound.

There Their They're.

There's a difference.

I did read the post though.  A lot of it is just flowerly fluff with no real substance.  But the actual talking points... preaching to the choir.  No one on this board needs a lecture about how to grow the sport or portray it in a positive light.  Be chill and don't be stupid.  /End thread
