I can has automagz?

« on: July 10, 2008, 06:12:47 PM »

I've owned a couple of these, I won one at a tourny and bought one new a couple years back.

Looks - Looks okay, depends on your style but we can probably all agree it's not a flashy marker. Carbon fiber gripframe and a matt black SS emag body can only do so much for the eye.

Performance - These are great shooters. They are rediculously reliable and durable, consistant and have average efficiency. The classic valves don't have the recharge rate of the rt or Xvalves and are unable to achieve the very high rates of fire that those valves can manage. It can work well on co2 if setup properly as well as HPA. It is also very well balanced with a tank and hopper.

Maintenance - Mags in general are very easy to maintain. A couple drops of good paintball marker oil before you play if really all you need to do regularly. The only thing that really ever goes wrong with these are internal orings over time. One repair kit will do the trick.

Cons - Weight(it's a SS body and valve) and I mentioned above the lower rof's. Also it comes stock with a powerfeed body and a carbon fiber frame. Powerfeeds are outdated and cf frames are, well, lets just say I'm not a huge fan.

Value - mags seem to hold used value well, the pro classic though is priced in the mid $200's new and used you probably pick one up for $150ish. For the price they cost new I'd really like to see an aluminum gripframe and a centerfeed body.

Verdict? Great markers for scenario or recballers. You really cannot go wrong with these markers. They shoot great, they are rugged and durable, and require little maintenence. It's a good long term investment as it will last longer than you will.

He never used it in a game. He built one from the ground up to look just like a Tac One. He then sold it for a nice chunk to help fund the purchase of his actual Tac One.
