Just curious if you have a guide to make a 98 Custom into a AK-47, thinking about doing one myself, but scared I'll screw up the gun haha. Was looking at the thompson mod you have up, looked really good and was thinking about doing that pretty quick here. Have D-day scenario coming up in June and figured what the hell, all my Tippmann does is sit around, but I tend to use it for my woodsball. More of a speed baller, but would like to have a scenario gun that will be considered Eye Candy :-p. Thanks

Hey man! Welcome to the Forum!
There are several ways you can go about this.

You can buy this kit as well as the Tippmann X7 AK front sight and a longer barrel:

You can buy this kit:

Or you can buy these pieces and make it look like a real AK (as best as you can with a 98)

Think I'm gonna go with the last choice, was looking at that site and seen some handle made of wood for the marker as well. Seems like the most realistic choice to me. Thanks a lot.

Went through West Virgina on my way to South Carolina (from Michigan) great place from where I stopped. Thanks for the help.

As for the Thompson, how much time did you put into it, only part I'm worried about is the fabrication of the stock piece that you attached the wood to. Thanks again.

Yeah, as for the AK look, I love the real wood hardware.
About the Thompson. In total I believe it was roughly $200 because I owned the 98C. The prices on Thompson hardware have increased a bit since I did my project. The $200 included the Thompson stock (and all metal hardware), Wooden foregrip (with all metal hardware), the front sight and rear sight. Then I bought the J&J barrel and mounted the front sight on it.

If you're worried about making the back piece to attach the stock and the rear sight,  Im pretty sure Eric Engler, of Engler Paintball, can make you the backpiece to attach and possibly sell you the stock with it. You'd have to ask him for a price.

Figure I'll just got the AK route, about the same price and I wont have to fabricate anything.
