JJ, if you are looking at getting some more shots out of each 12g it looks like some polishing and a spring kit can give you excellent results. Found this on the TPXOG, it looks like polishing the block and outside of the bolt and adding a techt spring can give you another 2-3 mags off a 12g!

Well my results are in at the time for a polish and spring kit job. I definitely saw an increase in shots. When I finished, I was able to shoot five mags without hardly any shoot down until the end of the 5th. The sixth mag had one decent shot and then pooped right out in two more shots.

This is with the TechT medium spring and a polish job on the block and the exterior of the bolt. I have no idea what my velocity is at right now, but I'm feeling like it is less than 275. I will not do anything to it until I chrono with it Saturday and will try to remember what it's running at.

I enjoy doing the polish job, but the reset of everything is a pain. The velocity was way hig and several chops because of high pressure came about. The reg honks/squeaks if I pull the trigger slowly, but if do it fast, nothing. I wish it had a gauge. It seems very sensitive to velocity changes and then changes pressure. By watching it, when the velocity went up, I had to reg it down, when I went down, I felt like I had to follow the manual to reset it everytime. Only time will tell. I'm going to leave it alone for a minute and press my luck one last time and see how many shots I can get out of it and a final early impression.

Well, I gave it a break, loaded up all six mags and went to shooting. Shot all six mags without gassing out and had a dry fire in the middle and two weak dry shots before I pulled the 12 gram. Around round 4-5 out of the 6th mag I noticed the drop off in velocity but I was only shooting at 45 feet so all the shots still hit the target.

If the velocity is around 250 or greater, and I think it is ill take 40 to 44 shots I can get. I was happy with three solid mags, but this is way better. I'm still very guarded about the results and time will tell. If it evens out to 4 mags at a good velocity, I think will be the baseline I'm looking for. I'll keep you informed.

I bought a TPX new. The first day I got it in, I was sooo excited. I had went out and bout some cartridges, and even some higher quality paint.

First Clip: ~Kind of a pain to load, then I figured it out Wink
~Would not puncture CO2 cartridge, had to take apart pin punctuator to grease it better. (Later                found out there was a recall on that...)

First Clip, Second Try: ~Finally shot, but after 2nd shot, (as in, on the third) it unloaded the whole mag in a single shot, spraying paint for about 10 feet. I was not impressed.

Second Clip up until the time where I said screw this...: Looked at FAQ's about the problem, called Tippmann about the problem (They were clueless). It did the exact same thing with both mags. I do not know how many times that I squeegeed that barrel. Decided that it wasnt worth my time for something that I wouldnt use that much anyway...

Pros: 1/4 turn CO2
        8 Ball Mag
        Made by Tippmann
        Ability to add remote line
Punctures on first trigger pull ( Unless it's my old TPX, lol... )
Has A5/X7 threads, so you can put an APEX or whatever you want on there.

Cons: Bigger than I expected
Had massive issues with the paint spraying
         Heavier than most PBP's
         Pricey

Overall: I would use it, if I could get it working, and I would deff use it for a separate game (Speedpistol) However, gun didn't work all that great, so ended up selling it on Ebay.

You going to upgrade to the T8.1? It has the first strike kit built into it. I see how the T9 is basically like a pistol with a stock, barrel, and a scope. Can you add that stuff to a T8/T8.1?

No, you really can't add that stuff to a T8/8.1.  The stock requires a new back part on the T8, which you could replace with a T9's, the T8.1 cannot accept this.  The foregrip extension cannot fit on the T8 because part of it slips into the receiver around the barrel, and this isn't drilled out large enough.

The T8 and T9 share the same layout and grip, but the attachments are all T9 exclusive.  The T9 is extremely versatile.  The T8.1 has some refinements in design, but those changes make a lot of things incompatible between the two.

I'm assuming that you can still change the barrel on it though? And what about a longbow? Will one fit on that?

Barrel should be no problem, but the Longbow setup wont fit on it. Thats strictly the T9.

The T8 and 9 share the same barrel.

The T8.1 uses a slightly different barrel.  They are not interchangeable.

=/ I was kind of hoping it would, even though it looks funny.

and Jackson, I mean like upgraded barrels, not interchangeable. But this also lets me know that I cant buy a barrel that fits the t8 and try to put it on my t8.1

Aftermarket will come eventually.  For now, there is nothing out there.
