I want to get a team started up around my place, as there are a few guys who play, but not as much as we should. One main problem is that the only paintball field that WE can use within 1 hour driving time is on an Air Force Base. ( Great, huh? Especially considering that none of us have military connections... )

I decided that for us to play more, we need better accessibility. I have a spot cleared in my back field (180' x 250')

Currently I have 3 obstacles, symmetric on both sides.  Start is a 4' x 8' pallet. Left corner is 3 wooden spools (Like from the electric company) stacked into a pyramid. Right is a 4' x 4' x 4' crate (Dang thing is made out of oak and heavy as crap...)

I have a trailer load of tires, and I am thinking about making a short snake on both sides. I need some more ideas on what to use ( Cheap, of course... I have taken a hit recently, as I have bought a 68/4500, an X7, and a E-grip... Couldn't resist... Smiley ) I want to have 1 or 2 junk cars, but unfortunately, people dont just throw those away anymore... I heard use hay bales, as they make superb cover, and that would be great, as I have access to a couple hundred of them. The other thing I have heard about them is that they make about the biggest mess you have ever seen in your life after about a year...

I have some tanks that my uncle uses for herbicides (500 gallon round-up tanks) that I need to pick up, and those would make another, but that is a big field, and I need some help filling it!

Thanks in advance guys!

Ah sorry man, I just seen this topic actually.

Sounds like you have a solid plan. Get Pallets....alot of them. You can do so much with them and typically if you go to Lowes or Walmart and ask if they have any pallets they can give you they generally will. Lowes I know for sure will.

Symmetry would be important to me.  no unfair advantages.  I agree that hay bails are a bad idea in the long run.  I agree with enhander that pallets are the best/cheapest option.  Corrugated pipe, 55 gal drums, fallen trees and Plywood can also make good barricades.  I saw an article once about a guy that dug ditches behind his pallets, it was a bad idea because when it rained you were laying in a little pond.  however i think i would try and do that myself....even some out in the open.  in-fact my idea of the perfect set up is less cover the closer you get to the center of the field.

Good luck and post up pics.
